Swope Community Builders Leadership

William H. Jones
President

William H. JonesBill Jones has over thirty years of experience as the CEO or a senior executive in public and private real estate development organizations. Jones was selected to serve as President of Swope Community Builders, a member Company of Swope Community Enterprises in Kansas City, MO. Jones served as a consultant to the company for eighteen months and was responsible for restructuring its business model prior to his appointment.

Jones serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustee’s of the Abraham Lincoln Center; Board Member of the National Community Security Initiative Task Force of LISC; a member of the Regional Planning Committee of the Metropolitan Planning Council; and a past director of the Illinois Facilities Fund.

Jones holds a Master’s Degree in Education (concentration Business & Administration) from Cambridge College in Cambridge, Massachusetts; and Certificate of Completion from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, School of Real Estate Development Executive Training Program.

M.A. “Art” Chaudry
Chief Operating Officer

M.A. ChaudryArt is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the community development company, including oversight of SCB’s growing assets and portfolio in both residential and commercial real estate, project management, and business development of new opportunities and implementation of business strategies.

Art previously was executive vice president and chief financial officer at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo. Before that, he had been Jackson County’s chief administrative officer. Prior work experience also includes executive level assignments with Hoechst Marion Roussel, H & R Block, and the Kansas City Royals Baseball Club.

Mr. Chaudry earned a Masters in Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He currently is a member of the Board of the Urban League of Greater Kansas City, where he previously served as chairman.

Robert Radford
East Village Project Manager

Robert RadfordVeteran real estate development management professional Robert “Bob” Radford III manages the development of the East Village project on the east side of downtown Kansas City. The estimated $340 million redevelopment project includes the transformation of nine blocks east of the existing federal courthouse, Federal Aviation Administration building and the JE Dunn Corporate Headquarters. The new developments are scheduled to include housing, mixed-use, retail and office space, a hotel, and parking. The first phase of construction will begin in the 4th quarter of 2010, with phase one completion expected in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Bob has more than 33 years experience in architecture, construction and public/private real estate development projects. Radford was senior project manager for the construction of the 110-thousand square foot International Church of the Nazarene Global Ministry Center in Lenexa, Kan., and he represented the unified government of Kansas City, Kan., and co-managed their $600 million Village West development in Wyandotte County. He also was a member of the management team that developed the $980 million dollar Sprint Campus world headquarters in Overland Park, Kan.

Mr. Radford holds a bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University and is a registered architect in the state of Kansas.

Patrick Kaufman
Vice President Finance and Accounting

Patrick KaufmanPat joined the Swope family of companies in October 2005, with responsibility for accounting operations, financial reporting, fiscal policy, investment planning, materials management and risk management. In January 2009, he assumed the financial leadership duties for Swope Community Builders.

Pat has more than 20 years of accounting and financial experience in the for-profit and non-profit sectors. Most recently, he was Director of Finance at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research with responsibility for the finance, accounting, employee benefits, and Grants administration functions. Prior to that, he spent seven years at Sprint Corporation in various finance and accounting roles. Pat also worked in public accounting at Deloitte & Touche.

He is a member of the American Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has served on numerous community and nonprofit boards and councils, and currently serves on the University of Kansas Accounting and Information Systems Advisory Council. He is a native of Winfield, Kansas, and a graduate of the University of Kansas in Lawrence where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He is also a graduate of the Kansas City Tomorrow leadership development program.
