East Village
The East Village project is the vital, final component of downtown Kansas City, Mo.’s renaissance. Swope Community Builders, in partnership with Sherman and Associates, a Minneapolis–based urban developer, is working to ensure that individuals regardless of income, race or gender will participate in the $4.5 billon invested into the city’s renaissance.
Swope Community Builders will transform the East Loop by removing surface parking lots and blighted buildings and installing a bustling, mixed-use urban village. The $350 million investment will include more than 12 city blocks and be home to more than 800 affordable and market-rate housing units, 80,000 square feet of retail space, parking garages and a new corporate headquarters for JE Dunn Construction. JE Dunn is planning to build a state of the art $30 million, 150,000 square foot headquarters in the East Village development.

Brush Creek Area Redevelopment Initiative (BCARDI)
The Brush Creek Area Redevelopment Initiative (BCARDI) is a comprehensive plan to revitalize the Brush Creek Corridor from Cleveland Avenue to Bruce R Watkins Drive in Kansas City, Mo. The BCARDI project includes affordable multi-family housing options and opportunities for commercial and institutional development.
